Bill learned to play the guitar at the age of seven and began playing professionally at the age of twelve. After high school, Bill studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and later received a music degree from the University of Denver. While attending DU, he studied with Gene Rush, Rene Heredia, and Dale Brunning. Bill’s primary music influences include Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, Al Di Meola, John Scofield and Allan Holdsworth.
Over his career he has played with numerous rock, country, funk and jazz bands. Bill also owned and operated Kerr/Macy Music Group, one of Denver’s top recording studios, during the 1990’s.
As a song writer, Bill has demonstrated his ability to capture and inspire emotion within his music and has been well received by a broad spectrum of listeners. Throughout his career, he has been involved with the composition, arrangement, performance, recording, and production of many CD projects.
Since moving to North Carolina in 2016, Bill has been hired to play as a solo instrumental jazz artist in many of the finer restaurants in Wilmington.
